We are proud to announce that our eigth school year started this September in our beautiful primary school in Haiti, with over 100 students and 9 full-time employees!
Thanks to your donations and the involvement of our dedicated volunteers, we have raised close to $13,000 this year! We used 100% of the donations received to start the fitting and finishing of the ground floor for the new 2-story building which will eventually hold 10 classrooms, to install doors and windows, to reinforce the perimeter wall, and to build a new playground. Thanks to a donation of recorders by Long&McQuade in Montreal, we were able to start offering real music classes, and thanks to the generosity of employees at the Children’s Hospital in Ottawa, we were able to open up a small infirmary.
Furthermore, two students from the University of Sherbrooke, took part at their own expense, in a 4-month humanitarian trip, during which they worked alongside our teachers in order to improve pedagogical methods.
